Parvimonas micra is an obligated anaerobic, Gram-positive cocci; the most important commensal organism in the human oral cavity.

Introduction. Parvimonas micra (P. micra) is a Gram-positive anaerobic bacterium with a diameter of 0.3–0.7 μm and grows slowly. It is arranged in pairs or chains and can be commonly found in the human oral cavity.1–3 P. micra causes bacteremia, rachitis, arthritis, infective endocarditis, liver abscess, renal abscess, brain abscess, pleural effusion, and lung abscess.4–13 A lung abscess tract normal flora. P micra, Fusobacterium, S intermedius, and the Eikenella strains were not among the potential cross-reactants tested. Although false-positive PATB findings have been reported,8 no false-positive PATB reactivity due to Parvimonas has been described in the literature. P micra, formerly known as Peptostreptococcus micros, is a Susceptibility testing of anaerobic bacteria recovered from selected cases can influence the choice of antimicrobial therapy.

It is worthy to note that dental Changes were evaluated over 10 years in the in vitro resistance of human periodontopathic strains of Parvimonas micra to four antibiotics. Subgingival biofilms culture positive for P. micra from 300 United States adults with severe periodontitis in 2006, and from a similar group of 300 patients in 2016, were plated onto anaerobically incubated enriched Brucella blood agar alone, or Parvimonas micra: meta-databases: BacDive: 2 records from this provider: organism-specific: BioCyc: Micromonas micros (PrA%A9vot 1933) Murdoch and Shah 2000: taxonomy/phylogenetic: Encyclopedia of life: GOLD: Go0114352: organism-specific: Genomes On Line Database: Parvimonas micra: culture/stock collections: Global Catalogue of Microorganisms 2019-11-19 · Parvimonas micra (P. micra) is a Gram-positive anaerobic cocci, normally found in the oral cavity and rarely causes severe infections. We describe a rare clinical presentation of P. micra as spondylodiscitis and psoas abscess with haematogenous spread in an adult patient. MRI lumbar spine detected L2 and L3 spondylodiscitis.

These antibiotics are commonly used in Swedish dental practice.

Most GPACs are still susceptible to metronidazole, although some metronidazole-resistant strains of F magna and Parvimonas micra have been described.9.

Peptoniphilus asaccharolyticus, 10, 100, NT, NT, NT  The susceptibility of 14 species of 115 Gram-positive anaerobic cocci (GPAC) clinically most relevant GPAC species: Finegoldia magna, Parvimonas micra,  17 Sep 2020 micra in faecal samples from CRC patients compared to controls.

The susceptibility of Anaerococcus prevotii, Fusobacterium necrophorum, F. nucleatum, Parvimonas micra, and Prevotella intermedia/nigrescens to antimicrobials was evaluated with the Etest, whereas β-lactamase production was assessed with nitrocefin. Parvimonas micra (P. micra) (17.5%) was the second most frequently identified GPA (MALDI-TOF MS); we then retrospectively reviewed electronic medical records for 25 P. micra bacteremia cases at our hospital.
